Dealing with spam – part 565 (or about that)
Today I had 365 spammers in my pending comment section. I was overwhelmed! Then I remembered that the last time Word Press updated my blog, they hadn’t activated my plugins. That was true again today. So they’ve been activated and I’m hoping the spam will settle down a bit. I can hope, can’t I?
I also noticed that most of the spams were on just a few old blogs. When I went to the comments for those blogs, I found that I had had a soft moment. I had yielded to my desire to have lots of comments, and allowed less than legitimate comments. In fact, they looked a lot like the spam I’d just deleted.
So now I’ve deleted all of those comments. Only my true friends remain.
How do you qualify as my friend? Easy, don’t comment on my blog and try to sell me or my readers anything.
